Beatrice Prior must confront her inner demons and continue her fight against a powerful alliance which threatens to tear her society apart with the help from others on her side.

Insurgent carries on from the moment when the first film ended, in which we see Tris, Four and Caleb running and seeking refuge from the violent attacks from Jeanine and Erudite.

If, for some reason, you didn't see the first film in this new book to film adaption (Divergent), then Insurgent will come very confusing to you-as the film's plot becomes more and more intricate and complicated. However, there are flashbacks to the last film which links to the characters as they go through nightmares and/or court cases. The flashbacks do help if you haven't seen Divergent but I recommend that you see the first film before seeing this one.

It's not usual that I would give anything a rating of something with a •5 however, I feel that Insurgent is between two stars and three. There is too much running, far too much action and don't get me started on the clichés! Throughout the film, there is hardly any space for dialouge- but when there is, it is only little to make up the plot. Insurgent is mostly about Tris and Four trying to survive. Because of all of this, I thought that the movie's plot was boring. Just boring.

If you are a fan of the series, do go see it! I am going to see Allegiant Part One but I probably won't be watching this in a while!
