"There is a rumour that the Elites don't bleed..."

Hundreds of years into the future, wars, riots, resource crises and rising sea levels have destroyed the old civilisations. Only one city has survived: Neo-Babel, a city full of cultures - and racial tension. Fifteen-year-old Silver is an Elite, a citizen of Neo-Babel chosen to guard the city due to her superior DNA.

She'd never dream of leaving - but then she fails to prevent the assassination of Neo-Babel's president, setting off a chain of events more shocking and devastating than she could have ever imagined. Forced to flee the city with her best friend Butterfly, Silver will have to fight to find her family, uncover the truth about Neo-Babel - and to survive.

Neo-Babel is a strange and bizarre city set in the near distant future, where the DNA of the citizens are tested- at birth- to see if they carry the genetics of becoming an Elite. The Elites are a group of people whom are strong, brave and advanced- and they have to protect the city. Silver is known as a 'Red' in Neo-Babel, and because of this she sometimes receives some racial comments. Even though this is a problem Silver has to deal with, she is about to deal with a hell of a lot more...

Every single one of the characters were so unique and different, I adored meeting them! And their names represented their personalities perfectly! Ember- one of the characters- was one of my favourites, as she had such a feisty attitude and she really stood out from the majority of the characters. However, I also enjoyed Butterfly- and I found his character very well written in each of the scenes that he was in. Silver was one of the most badass female protagonists I have ever met, before, and it was wonderful to see her reactions to the events that occurred in the plot. You could tell that Natasha spent a long time working on the characters- even to the smallest detail- and it really paid off!

This was a fantastic roller coaster of a book! It left me speechless by the end of the novel! Natasha Ngan is a talented author who deserves to be with the likes of J.K. Rowling and Suzanne Collins because The Elites is one heck of a book! By the end of Natasha's novel, I was left with my jaw hanging open, and I could tell that her debút (The Memory Keepers is her second novel, currently.) is the next bestseller! I adored the layout of Natasha's novel, it was clear and concise- and the description was so beautiful, I was able to picture everything perfectly.

Once you begin The Elites, I promise you that you won't be able to stop! It was beautifully crafted and compelling- a must read! I read this book within the space of two hours, and I regret nothing! I would love to see Natasha's novel as an adaption *hint, hint* and it is definitely one of my favourite reads of 2015 so far!
